As a storyteller, Leah Michalos uses photography as a means of capturing images that are on the brink of being forgotten. It may be a piano whose broken keys struck its last note, an abandoned opera house whose grandeur long faded, or an aged woman who ponders an era gone by on a pebbled beach…Whatever the image, they come from a place of reflection – propelled by the curiosity of the past, the importance of their history – and the desire to preserve it.
